Manager, Branch Operations

Responsibilities:
- Oversees the daily branch operations and the day-to-day activities of the Loan Processors.
- Assists with the processing, underwriting and supervision of closing activities for loans in the pipeline.
- Pre-qualifies potential loan applicants and underwrites loans in the pipeline.
- Provides guidance, training and assistance to branch personnel.
- Serves as the primary underwriter for the branch.
- Acts as the Branch Manager in the absence of the manager.
- Supports the Branch Manager and the Loan Officers during times of peak and heavy demand for services.
- Provides pre-application services and obtains pertinent credit documentation.
- Conducts credit analyses.
- Supports the timely introduction and successful administration of new products, product line extensions and marketing initiatives.
- Reviews documentation submitted by the Loan Processors for approval of new Condominium and Planned Urban Development projects.
- Coordinates the resolution of deficiencies, Quality Control issues and any other post-closing issues.
- Participates in the development and implementation of the branch new business development plan.
- Reviews closing documents and ships files to the Central Office.
- Calls out approvals as directed by the Branch Manager.
- Reviews files weekly using tickler system.
- Maintains a master to-do list for the Branch.
- Updates the night recorder.

Requirements:
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- 3+ years of experience working in a mortgage lending environment, including pre-qualifying, reviewing, analyzing, processing and underwriting.
- Specialized working knowledge of the mortgage lending process, including underwriting of "A" and "A-" loans and mortgage lending statutes (TILA, RESPA, ECOA, etc.).
- Knowledge of the mortgage industry, including trends and current developments, as gained through local and/or regional industry contacts and professional group participation.
- Knowledge of the fundamental elements of quality customer service.
- An understanding of the importance of the communication process with customers and other constituencies and clients.
- Knowledge of telephone selling.
- PC proficiency in software such as Word and Excel.
- The ability to perform in a fast-paced environment where accuracy and timeliness are of the essence.
- Excellent teamwork skills.
- Experience selling over the telephone and building customer relationships.

Preferred Skills/Experience:
- College coursework.
