Downtown Chicago Well capitalized REIT with a nationwide portfolio of 400 facilities is seeking an Investment & Underwriting Manager for the firm?s regional office in downtown Chicago.  Reporting to the Chief Investment Officer, the Manager will be responsible for supporting the acquisition of property by leading all aspects of the underwriting, due diligence, approval, and closing processes.   Responsibilities:

Supporting the Vice Presidents of Acquisitions, the Investment &Underwriting Manager is responsible for:

? Creating, managing and improving the underwriting, due diligence and closing process and tools to support an investment strategy that targets $200 million to $400 million in new acquisitions annually. 

When transaction, single property or portfolio, has been identified, the Investment &Underwriting Manager will:

? Evaluate property and market

? Analyze financials

? Assess management and operations

? Coordinate third party due diligence

? Prepare and present approval requests

? Process closing, and

? Transition property or portfolio to asset management. Requirements:

? 5-7 years real estate and or investment experience. 

? A solid background with debt and/or equity investor or developer, consulting firm, or related entity that focuses in real estate. 

? Experience analyzing, acquiring/financing, and closing related real estate investments. 

? Knowledge of investment fundamentals and operations of relevant asset types

? Ability to evaluate and understand investment risk.  Independent decision-making capability to make informed recommendations as to well-reasoned courses of action. 

? Strong quantitative and written and oral communication skills are a must.

? Willingness to travel required.

? Degree in finance, real estate or related field required.  Advanced degree or certification  A+
