Manager of Architecture

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Primary Contact for Design Vendors during Design Development though Construction Administration. (i.e. Architects, Civil Engineers, Landscape Architects, Environmental Graphic Designers and other various vendors)



Develop and maintain coordination and communication amongst Architects, Civil Engineers, Landscape Architects, Graphics and Signage Designers and other vendors under the controls of RED Development within the realm of project design.



Facilitate communication flows between Design Vendors, Construction Department and Developer throughout project delivery.



Facilitate communication and information flow between Tenant Coordinators and Architects. Facilitate in the development and implementation of informative and updated lease plans.



Oversee Architects and facilitate the design development and approvals of prototypical "Junior Anchor" tenants as they fit within conceptual design of the shopping center.



Provide active participation role in early site plan development and building design concepts.



Contact and coordinate with Vendors (Architectural, Civil Engineering, etc.) regarding proposals, budgetary issues, vendor relations and new projects.



Oversee and assure Vendor schedules are maintained ? on time performance.



Review Vendor invoices and report budgets to Development Department, both on a regular basis.



Review building, site and landscape/hardscape design for concept integrity against early conceptual ideas.



Facilitate communications with City Planning, Building Review and Permit divisions and assist Vendor teams and Construction Department in meetings relating to Review and Inspection processes.

Perform tenant reviews for small shop tenant spaces within new and existing shopping centers.



Assist Development team in negotiations with Small, Junior, Major Anchor and Padsite tenants during project delivery.



Assist in design, communication and coordination regarding existing development issues including tenant space layouts, lease outline diagrams, modifications to building layouts and facades, etc.



Report to Principal-in-Charge of Design via design schedules and status/budget reports.



Additional responsibilities on an as needed basis

Site plan design and implementation in AutoCadd program.



Develop and refine model and tools of functional and organizational aspects of department.



 

Travel Expectations

May be required to travel for business purposes up to 10% of the time. All properly documented and approved company travel-related expenses will be reimbursed in accordance with RED Development?s Travel and Entertainment Policy.



 



Education

Licensed Architect with Bachelor?s Degree in Architecture

 

Experience

Minimum 5 years of experience in the field of Architecture or Development.
