This position is responsible for leading a team of originators and assisting in growing their business. Will also be required to recruit additional talent and improve the staff?s production. The ideal candidate will be a high-producing sales person capable of overseeing the day-to-day management of the sales team. Origination activities will include advising potential borrowers on appropriate loan programs and the loan process. Responsibilities will include calling on business partners in the community and quoting rates, taking loan applications and conducting loan support activities encompassing the point of sale.

Involves monitoring/analyzing financial profitability, managing expense controls and enhancing profitability, production and quality control. Participates in community or trade events to promote Countrywide, in addition to preparing and participating in Realtor/Builder functions including open houses and conventions.

The successful candidate will have a BA in Business, Communications or related field (or equivalent experience), coupled with a thorough knowledge of FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA and mortgage loan guidelines. Requires general underwriting knowledge and the ability to develop financial and production forecasts, budgets and status reports. Effective negotiation, presentation and verbal/written communication skills are essential, as are superior sales management abilities and the capacity to manage multiple branches. The proven leader we seek must be able to manage a staff and their loan origination activities in compliance with RESPA and Fair Lending. The ability to motivate, evaluate, coach and train staff is crucial. Proficiency with PC software such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint is mandatory.
