Mortgage Underwriter-Brooklyn, NY $45-$50K

My client is a fast-growing Mortgage Broker located in the Williamsburg Section of Brooklyn that will soon become a Mortgage Banker.  I just placed an Underwriter last month and now they want to add another one to the staff.  Client likes to see 3-4 people who will have only one interview and then a hiring decision will be made.  Below are the specs:

 

Position: Residential Mortgage Underwriter

Location: Brooklyn, NY (Williamsburg-right near the J & M Trains)

Reports to: Chief Operating Officer

Salary: $45-50K (depending on experience) + annual salary review and discretionary bonus

Benefits: Major Medical which company will pay 100% of the cost

Requirements: 5 Years Experience as a Residential Mortgage Underwriter with familiarity with all Loan Types. MUST also have a strong background with Open Bankruptcy and other ?Hard Money? & Sub-Prime Loans.  Candidate MUST also be familiar with automated Underwriting Systems (DU, LP, etc.) as well as have the ability to manually underwrite the file when necessary. MUST be very detailed oriented and work in a fast-paced and deadline driven environment and be a team player.  Excellent verbal and written communications skills are also required.

Misc:  MUST have stable work history and checkable references.  Candidates will be given an underwriting test at the interview.
