LEASING AGENT

 

Position Summary

 

The leasing agent is the property?s sales representative whose primary duty is to greet prospects, professionally present the features and benefits of the property and properly secure lease agreements from qualified persons.  A leasing agent is service oriented and strives to make current residents feel welcome and comfortable in their community.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 Conduct all business in accordance with company policy and procedures, Fair Housing, Americans with Disabilities Act and all other laws pertaining to apartmentsGreet prospective residents, qualifies, determines needs and preferences, professionally presents community and specific apartments while providing features and benefitsInspects models and ?market ready? vacancies daily to ensure cleanlinessCorrectly completes all lease applications, assists with application verification and notifies prospective residents of resultsCompletes all lease paperwork including related addendums, accepts rent payments and depositsOrganizes and files appropriate reports, leases and paperworkAssists Property Manager and Assistant Manager in preparing daily and weekly reports, resident communications, move-out inventory, market surveys, etc.Answers incoming phone calls and handles accordingly whether it is a prospect call, irate resident, service request, etc. transferring calls to Property Manager or Assistant Manager when appropriateAttends company meetings when requestedPerforms additional duties as assigned by the Property Manager

 

Qualifications and Requirements

 Good leasing and closing skillsExcellent organizational skillsAbility to function effectively in a sales/marketing and customer service environmentAbility to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organizationAbility to read and write short correspondence and memosAbility to compute rate, discounts, interest and commissionsComputer proficiencyRequired to work a flexible work schedule

 

Education/ Training/ Experience

 One year property management, sales/customer service or related experience and/or trainingMinimum AA in Property Management or related industry preferred
