Position Description:

GENERAL:

Genworth Financial is currently seeking applicants for a Quantitative Analytics Leader to become part of our Risk team. The ideal candidate is well spoken, poised, reliable, responsible, detailed-oriented, and a highly organized individual who is capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously.


Genworth Financial prescribes to an enterprise-wide Risk Management view of risk; and, hence the scope of the risks assessed would encompass any event that causes deviation in the stated financial goals of the organization. This includes ensuring that the organization proactively determines which risks it will accept and retain?and subsequently?actively manage. To accomplish this, a strong analytical foundation is leveraged to assess and quantify these risks across all three business segments.

The Leader of the Core Analytics Team for Genworth Mortgage Insurance will drive the development and implementation of a framework that is inclusive of the market, credit, product and operational risks incurred by Genworth MI across all of its markets.

A consistent framework allows for the comparison of risks across products, markets and classes of risks. This supports the ultimate assessment of:

* New market entries
* New product launches
* Use of structured solutions leveraging the capital markets
* Economic capital requirements

Basic Candidate Qualifications:
* Strong academic credentials; advanced degree or related experience in Business, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics or Actuarial Sciences
* 7+ years financial services experience
* Strong knowledge of MI and/or mortgage products
* Demonstrated project management experience
* Ability to express complex ideas to senior management
* Ability to hire and work with team members that have highly specialized skill sets
* Ability to build consensus across various constituencies

Preferred Candidate Qualifications:
* Advanced Degree in Financial Mathematics or a combination of degrees in Finance & Math or Economics & Finance
* Strong preference for candidate with Genworth MI experience
