Right of Way Agent, SR

Currently, we have an excellent opportunity for a Right of Way Agent, Sr. The office is located in downtown Atlanta. This role will be responsible for leading the process of acquiring land rights for the company's building projects throughout the state of Georgia . Daily duties include (but not limited to): acquire easements, land rights for construction and maintenance of distribution and transmission facilities. This position will require DAILY face-to-face and phone communication with irate property owners. Candidate must have strong verbal and written communication skills. Also, candidate must have proven experience in negotiating terms and establishing control of their situation.

NOTE: CANDIDATE MUST BE WILLING TO TRAVEL UP TO 80% OF THE TIME ACROSS THE STATE. TRAVEL SCHEDULE WILL REQUIRE OVERNIGHT STAY. ALSO THIS ROLE WILL REQUIRE WORKING EVENINGS AND WEEKENDS TO CALL ON CLIENTS AS NEEDED.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Education

High School graduate or equivalent. Associates or Bachelors degree is a plus.

Job Experience

Successful candidate have suitable experience in real estate acquisition, as well as courthouse research. Specific experience dealing with utility land rights is preferred. Previous experience completing legal documents.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Knowledge of Transmission and/or Distribution systems for a utility company is a plus. Excellent negotiation skills. Customer focused and strong communication skills with proven ability to deal with irate customers (face to face and by phone). Good relationship building skills with internal and external clients. Thorough knowledge of real estate property documents and records. Self motivated, with the ability to work independently (without supervision). Ability to read and interpret surveys. Familiar with real estate appraisals and computer operations. Detailed oriented and strong organizational skills. Ability to coordinate many projects simultaneously. Team player.

A bility to travel (80% of job) around the state of Georgia, which will include overnight stay.

Available to work evenings/weekends as needed to call on clients.

Must be willing to work in adverse weather conditions with extensive walking.

Participation on storm evaluation and restoration teams required.

Valid driver's license required.

Must use personal vehicle to visit job sites on a daily basis.
