SENIOR INVESTMENT ANALYST – ACQUISITIONS

BASIC PURPOSE:

 

Support asset management activities for the firm?s institutional and private wealth clients under supervision of senior asset management staff.  Assist in the development, implementation and monitoring of property operating plans and generally oversee operations of an assigned portfolio of equity investments, including coordination with portfolio accountants and service providers associated with the properties.  Focus activities on maximizing investment income, cash flow and long term value, all within the framework of the overall portfolio strategy and objectives.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Assist in preparation of annual business plans, quarterly reports, valuation and hold/sell analysis for assigned assets. 

For directly owned properties, participate in management of third party service providers, including property managers and leasing agents.  For debt or joint venture investments, monitor activities of borrowers/partners.

Monitor property activity including capital projects and investment performance.  Periodically inspect properties.  Review and analyze property managers? reports.  Monitor debt service and loan obligations, if applicable. 

Perform basic property analysis including variance review, market analysis, lease evaluation and abstracts, periodic DCF analysis of investment value, and performance returns.

Perform other reasonable duties as assigned.

SKILLS:

Strong organizational, analytic and writing skills.  Ability to multi-task.  Ability to use Excel spreadsheets and Argus to perform DCF, return analysis and investment valuation.

EXPERIENCE:

0-2 yrs related real estate experience: property underwriting, asset management and investment analysis, or property operations.
