Senior Real Estate Development Director

Our client is a Nashville, TN based commercial development firm established in 1983 and current holdings of over $2 Billion.  They are seeking a Senior Real Estate Development Director for their Nashville location.

 

The successful candidate will assist in selecting architects, engineers, and general contractors for approved projects, as well as coordinating with personnel from Site Acquisition, Operations, Finance and Business Development in the approval, design and construction of new and/or expanded correctional facilities. In addition, this individual will assist in feasibility studies of potential projects including the renovation and expansion of existing facilities, as well as the development of new prison facilities; and provide input into corporate policies related to design and construction.

 

Specifically, this individual will:

 

1. Coordinate with Business Development, Operations and Finance departments in the strategic identification of new sites for development of new prison beds.

2. Assess the suitability of expansion opportunities to meet demand for new prison beds.

3. Work with personnel from Site Acquisition, outside architects, engineers, contractors and various governmental agencies to obtain necessary permitting approval (zoning, environmental, etc.) for specifically identified sites.

4. Prepare project budgets and schedules for new and expansion opportunities.

5. Assist in the selection of the architect and contractor for approved projects.

6. Develop conceptual plans, budgets, and schedules for solicited and unsolicited business development activities.

7. Supervise Director of Construction.

8. Supervise Financial Analyst.

Person will be a graduate from an accredited college or university with a bachelor?s degree in architecture, construction management, or other related field.  Minimum six years of experience is required, preferably in the design, construction, or development of large physical plant structures.  Requires experience working closely with consultants, architects, engineers and general contractors.  Must possess strong writing and oral communication skills, as well as project planning, negotiation, marketing, organizational, and team building skills.
