Senior Underwriter / Operations Manager – Wholesale

Cedar Mortgage, established in 1981, is an independently owned real estate mortgage brokerage and mortgage banking firm, renowned for customer service and quality real estate programs. Our office family consists of qualified loan consultants and processing staff, and our lending portfolio represents one of the most comprehensive program collections in the United States.

 

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with outstanding interpersonal skills, good organizational skills, accountability and an excellent work ethic. This ideal person must have the ability to service brokers, loan officers, processors as well as satisfying investor requirements in order to sell the loans quickly and efficiently.

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

 Oversee office staff to ensure positive and efficient working environment.Underwrite/review mortgage loan submissions including all necessary documentation and issue Approval with conditions to the broker.Underwriting also includes; DTI & DI calculations as well as performing initial appraisal reviews.Stay abreast on investor and/or Company changes and implement them when necessary.Must be relatively familiar with drawing docs, funding, shipping and trailing docs.Will report directly to and work closely with the division President.No politics or games here.

 

Qualifications:

 High School Diploma or equivalent.An Associates or Bachelors Degree preferred.4-6 years of underwriting experience in Alt A & Alt B both manual and with underwriting engines.1 year as a lead or supervisor position.An accurate and working knowledge of key investors in the industry.Good computer skills.Must be detail oriented.Must have a get done now attitude.
