Supervisor, Underwriting

As Underwriting Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising the Underwriting staff, to ensure adherence to Countrywide's policies, procedures and underwriting guidelines. Main focus will be on training, developing and guiding staff, and providing performance input to management for appropriate action. Involves reviewing loan conditions to ensure accuracy, completeness and compliance with Countrywide Home Loan standards; examining loan-to-value ratio, credit reports and applications to ensure that each loan meets Countrywide guidelines; and communicating loan decisions to mortgage brokers. Incumbent will negotiate loan information necessary to properly structure and finalize incomplete loan packages.

This position requires a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent and 5+ years experience in underwriting residential loans, along with a background in a supervisory role. A firm understanding of key secondary market/investors is essential, as is demonstrated knowledge in FNMA/FHLMC product guidelines. Excellent communication financial analysis skills are essential. Must be DE/lapp approved and able to type a minimum of 35 wpm.
