Traveling Underwriters

EMC Mortgage, a wholly owned subsidiary of Bear Stearns, has immediate openings for Traveling Due Diligence Underwriters. 

 

Essential Job Functions

? Extensive travel throughout the country (at least 75% travel required).

? Perform regulatory compliance audits (e.g. Reg. Z, HOEPA, State ? specific anti-predatory/?High Cost? legislation) on all applicable loans.

? Underwrite mortgage loans to FNMA/FHLMC, investor or the seller?s guidelines.

? Perform other EMC due diligence procedures along with underwriting.

? Identify and analyze due diligence issues and mortgage portfolio risks.

? Perform collateral review of loans prior to closing of transaction.

? Report all due diligence results and issues to the due diligence manager.

 

 

 

Requirements

 

Education

The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor?s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business and have a working knowledge of Excel, word, and dBase

 

Skills & Knowledge

? Working knowledge of FNMA/FHLMC underwriting guidelines

? Working knowledge of federal, state and municipal regulatory compliance guidelines for residential mortgage lending.

? 1 to 3 years underwriting experience preferred

? Mortgage collection, foreclosure or bankruptcy experience or knowledge a plus.

 

? Basic knowledge of PCs and related software such as Excel and Word (Alltel preferred)
