Vice President, Central Processing

In this key position, you will resolve any customer service issues that may arise and guide the overall financial integrity of the center, including monthly pricing exceptions and the review of monthly production/financial reports. Focus will be on overseeing the management of all processing, underwriting, closing and post-closing activities; managing cancellation rates, turn ratio and loans per employee; and monitoring incoming volume and balance pipelines in order to manage the assigning of telemarketing production to appropriate teams. Involves working to ensure that the center operates in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures, fair lending laws and Federal/State regulations (RESPA, Reg. Z, TIL, ECOA), in addition to recruiting, hiring, staffing and training qualified individuals. Performs all personnel functions, including performance reviews, counseling and scheduling work hours, resolving personnel issues and providing support to the Team Leaders. Incumbent will support the origination efforts of telemarketing and the center by re-selling the customer and discussing alternative loan programs/pricing when needed to retain a customer. Promotes the cross-selling of CHL products, trains staff to ensure a thorough working knowledge of CHL's technical, operational and loan program guidelines and provides training for newly hired employees to ensure their understanding of CHL policy, procedures, products and customer service requirements. Other duties will include reviewing/underwriting loans falling outside company guidelines to determine acceptability of a loan on an exception basis.

This position requires a high school diploma (Bachelor?s degree preferred) and 3 years management/supervisory experience, along with an 8+ year background in mortgage banking, including 3 years in underwriting. Superior customer service and basic PC skills are essential (proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint preferred). The strong communicator we seek must be well versed in originating, pre-qualifying, processing and closing first, second and HELOC residential loan applications. Must be able to multi-task in a busy, fast paced environment, while managing a large number of people.
