This 800 employee, $250M+ real estate and property data company located in Orange County, CA is a profitable, industry-leading organization belonging to a family of business information companies comprising an $8+B Fortune 300 corporation.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

The VP of Product Mgmt is a true leadership role and is responsible for driving considerable revenue through the development & marketing of enterprise business information products, as well as maintaining ownership of the company?s overall product strategy & execution for product suites.  This high visibility role requires significant & highly applicable experience.

 

-  Develop & drive revenue, and execute of all product strategy, product positioning and go-to-market strategies worldwide for the Company?s suite of products. This will include defining pricing, positioning, competitive analysis, sales collateral content and customer presentations in cooperation with the product development and corporate marketing organizations.

-  Lead and manage product management teams through the process of defining product strategy and developing product roadmaps, product requirements documents, competitive/market research & customer feedback mechanisms for data-driven software tools, and business information products targeted at mortgage lending & related markets.

-  Define high level customer requirements for the entire customer experience including data content, delivery interface, application features and functions, distribution methods, purchase and provisioning, fulfillment, pricing, billing and servicing.

-  Ensure competitiveness of product offerings by developing and driving systematic competitive analysis and response programs. Develop and implement a structured and systematic process that collects customer requirements in a manner that allows for the understanding of market requirements that will drive future product offering developments.

-  Develop and market new products & solutions based on existing company strengths and assets. Ensure future product releases reflect experience gained from external market activities, customer discussions, usage analysis, competitive response, and market research.

-  Work in conjunction with internal marketing, software development, sales, and client services (aka client engagement) teams. Interact with key corporate clients for heavy pre- and post-sales analysis & support.

-  Develop the people of the product management team. Provide feedback & direction to the other members of product development team for product evolution, enhancements, and priorities.

-  Develop new products & solutions (?productize?) from custom software development efforts, consulting engagements, and/or value-added processes to serve market segments.

-  Participate in major client sales calls & events.

 

Specific Goals:

 

-  Develop and implement a cross-departmental process to accurately estimate return on investment on a project-by-project basis. The ultimate goal of this process will be to drive project prioritization and to establish guidelines for sales quotas by product.

-  Develop and maintain a 2-year product roadmap to include products developed by the Anaheim staff as well as products developed by all remote office operations.

-  Hire additional Product Management staff as necessary to meet immediate & long-term product roadmap goals.

-  Establish quarterly client focus group meetings plus an annual client advisory board event in conjunction with the Marketing department.

 

Required Skills and Experience:

 

-  10+ years of experience in product management/marketing, including experience leading a product management organization and an in-depth knowledge of the product management process.

-  In depth knowledge in one of more of the following preferred:

-  mortgage lending

-  real estate or property information

-  business information products

-  heavy data-driven software products

-  Experience managing multiple product lines for a company with proven track record of developing product line strategies which achieved market success.

-  An external, customer focus and a history of customer interaction to determine product needs and priorities.

-  Excellent decision making skills and strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.

-  A Bachelor?s degree, ideally in a technical discipline, with an MBA preferred.
