Analytical Chemist

The Analytical Chemist will report to the Manager for New Technology Platform Development and will work with both internal and external customers.  The job focus of an Analytical Chemist is to prepare a breakdown of analytical requests to determine if they are feasible given current capabilities and if analysis will provide decisive information.  They then must translate requests for analysis into scientifically sound experiments, input data, prioritize, conduct testing, interpret results and document the findings in a formal technical report.  The Analytical Chemist is also charged with growing the visibility of IPG analytical resources by developing new methods that add value and are cost effective, and by identifying the need and provide justification for analytical instrument purchases.

 

The following experiences represent the minimum amount and level of education, training and work experience needed to succeed as an Analytical Chemist:

 

A Bachelors of Science degree with a major in chemistry.  A strong math background,   with at least one course in statistics.  Experience in supervision is a plus.  A degree in Analytical Chemistry is a plus.
