Communications Manager

Incumbent supports communication initiatives for the Defense and Veterans Brain Injury Center, (DVBIC).  Responsibilities to include producing and managing the production of both internal and external communication pieces including brochures, presentations and internet/intranet, and to process information request from the general public and senior military officials. Review monthly site reports for information to be utilized. Prepare/maintain DVBIC bibliography. Process information request from the media, military and other sources. Prepare and staff DVBIC attendance at meetings and conferences. Coordinate the DVBIC website, to include content and technical duties and possible management of DVBIC staff. Manage materials that promote an awareness of DVBIC to include maintaining systems for obtaining, distributing and tracking distribution of DVBIC print/media products. Prepare quarterly Director's briefing. Prepare the e-newsletter. Perform other duties as assigned.

Must have excellent communication and organization skills, ability to prioritize and delegate responsibilities quickly and efficiently; experience in military media/communications highly preferred; ability to work with/communicate regularly with a variety of staff members to support their individual projects; basic understanding of print, graphic are and medical production terminology/processes.

Minimum Education/Training: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications or related field.

Minimum Experience: 3-5 years experience in communications, marketing or public affairs.
