Credit Risk Control Analyst

UBS is a leading global financial services firm. Global Asset Management provides traditional and alternative investment management solutions to private clients, institutional investors and financial intermediaries worldwide.

This individual will serve as an Analyst on a team of five credit professionals and be responsible for independent credit evaluation of new securitizeable whole loans and loan financings made within the Global Commercial Real Estate business unit.

The ideal candidate for this position will demonstrate the following:

Commercial Real Estate Credit Knowledge
-Demonstrated ability to analyze credit exposure related to proposed securitizeable loans, including the ability to analyze market conditions, assess deal structures and understand the credit implications of legal issues.
-Familiarity with all property types (including multifamily, commercial, hotel, healthcare, and land) and the relevant drivers of credit risk.
-Experience in lending, loan underwriting or at a credit rating agency helpful.

The position is located in New York City and reports to the Executive Director of the group. The job will involve roughly 10-15% travel.

Basic Qualifications
-Four year bachelor's degree.
-3 years of Credit related experience

Preferred Qualifications
Strong Communication Skills
-Ability to clearly organize, present and support (both written and verbally) credit assessments to all levels of the Credit organization.
-Ability to establish credibility, and interpersonal skills to work successfully with business generators in a trading-floor environment, even when credit evaluations result in rejecting a transaction.

-Strong reporting skills
-Highly organized/detail oriented
-Familiarity with credit risk measurement methodologies
-Good knowledge of Credit Risk systems, processes, etc
-Good knowledge of the various industries to which UBS extends credit
-Strong understanding of financial analysis and financial ratios
-Knowledge and experience with Business Objects, a web based application for independent MIS production
-Familiarity with ART tools. Experience with all MS-Office tools, particularly Excel.
