Amcor PET Packaging North America, a worldwide leader in the plastic packaging industry, is currently seeking a qualified Category Business Manager for our Diversified Products Division located in Ann Arbor, MI
Business Manager
The Category Business Manager will drive profitable growth within the food industry; define and execute an aggressive sales growth plan to capture and commercialize new business in the food segment, adjacent markets and new technologies; and preserve and enhance current account relationships by building superior long-term relationships with them. Additionally, this position :
Negotiates key contracts and manages other formalized commercial relationships
Identifies product development opportunities that will grow/improve profitability of the category
Interfaces with the R&D group to successfully bring these initiatives to commercialization
Leverages the marketing function to promote the food category in the marketplace, raising positive awareness and strengthening the brand image; and initiate, assess and develop opportunities and strategies to profitably grow the category.
Requirements include a Bachelor?s degree in Marketing or Management; 7-10 years of progressive experience in a marketing or sales management role within the food industry; solid technical aptitude with regards to PET, resins, manufacturing process, barrier materials and other competitive packaging mediums; and understand financial modeling and cost accounting.
Additional requirements include a strong work ethic and commitment to grow our business profitably; strong selling skills; solid packaging knowledge; effective communication skills; knowledge of competitors; and the ability to manage conflict/stress, work effectively within a team concept and coordinate development projects.
