Cafe Supervisor

Job Purpose: Provides cafeteria services by maintaining cafeteria operations; maintaining nutritional standards; supervising staff.



Duties:

*Communicates job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising job contributions of cooks, bakers, cashiers, and other cafeteria operations personnel; recommending compensation actions; adhering to policies and procedures; obtaining temporary contract workers and providing them with on-the-job training.



* Meets cafeteria operational standards by contributing information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; identifying system and process improvements.


* Gathers feedback and commentary regarding food and service by interviewing customers; conducting written evaluations; reviewing suggestions.



* Prepares cafeteria operations and production reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing food production and service data and trends.



* Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with sanitation and federal, state, and local legal regulations and overseeing cafeteria security.


* Maintains cafeteria supplies by recommending purchase of menu ingredients and general supplies; conducting inventories; establishing inventory levels, re-order points, receiving and storage requirements.



* Maintains cafeteria equipment by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; operating point-of-sale (POS) equipment, such as, cash registers, computers, keypads; instructing staff in equipment use; maintaining equipment supplies; performing preventive maintenance;evaluating new equipment; making recommendations of equipment purchases.


* Accomplishes cafeteria operations goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
