Catering & Sales Manager

A prominent private social and dining club, is currently seeking a Catering & Sales Manager. This individual will grow the Club?s special event, private banquet, and wedding and social business by actively selling, marketing and promoting to members, non-member clients, and guests. This position requires the development of contracts and overseeing of all sales, marketing and administrative aspects of booking, preparing and servicing events. The individual will work with the banquet and other departments to assure that the guests? expectations are exceeded. The ideal candidate will be a self motivated "Go Getter,? be familiar with the local market, and have an extensive background in Catering Sales in the Club or Hospitality fields.

This position is responsible for fostering and booking:
? Special events
? Private Banquets
? Weddings
? Business meetings
? Social meetings

Duties include, but are not limited to:
? Directing outside Sales and Marketing in Bay Area Marketplace to promote the facility off site to area businesses and organizations
? Developing sales and marketing plans that allow the Club to tap into new markets
? Meeting with clients, providing guest tours and offering suggestions in efforts to sell the merits of the Club's facilities for the occasion being planned
? Event planning, budgeting and contracting
? Securing deposits and ensuring final payments are received
? Suggesting menu and helping guests plan menu in conjunction with the Executive Chef
? Event organization and oversight
? Helping guests with parking, entertainment, decorations, audio/visual and any other requirements integral to events being planned
? Maintaining correspondence, handling client feedback and conveying the information to the appropriate department heads
? Responding in a timely manner to client, supervisor and peer inquires, correspondence, reports, files contracts and thank you letters.
? Properly setting up and maintaining files, logs, reports and event budgets; helping to develop catering sales budgets; reviewing financial reports and taking corrective actions as appropriate

Job Requirements and Expectations:
? 5 to 7 Years Catering Sales Experience (a background in Service, Guest Relations, Management, Food & Beverage and Event Planning is integral for success!)
? Excellent written and verbal communication skills
? Proven track record in developing new business and delivering superior service
? Knowledge of the local market is preferred
? Experience with Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Outlook, Excel) a MUST, and experience using JONAS, MICROS or other POS programs A+
? The ability to work varied workdays; days, evenings and/or weekends (based upon events)
