Catering & Special Events Sales Representative

 

Dean & DeLuca a High-End retailer known for its wide selection of gourmet & specialty food products, global cuisine, and exquisite house wares is seeking an experienced and highly creative Catering & Special Events Sales Representative for its Flagship store in SoHo.

Responsibilites include but not limited to:

*Oversee the management of all catered events including food and beverages, equipment, and staffing

*Develop and monitor budget and sales goals related to food and labor costs

*Market and sell Dean & DeLuca catering services to potential internal and external clients; meet and consult with clients to inform of all services provided, and establish catering requirements of the events

*Review production schedules and catering events to determine variety and quantity of foods to prepare

*Coordinate with food service and building service personnel for food and beverage requirements, delivery and set-up of events, staffing, etc

*Review scheduled catering event requests weekly to determine ordering needs; prepare request for products and equipment to be ordered

*Create special event menus for a variety of clients

*Develop and monitor budgets and sales goals related to food and labor costs; estimate daily and weekly production and inventory food requirements; coordinate inventory needs with menu forecasts

*Oversee the supervision of personnel, which includes work allocation, training, and problem resolution; evaluates performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions; motivates employees to achieve peak productivity and performance

*Maintain food production records, reports, and department files as required.

*Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

Requirements:

*Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering and inventory control

*Ability to plan a variety of menus

*Strong organizational skills

*Ability to supervise and train employees, which includes organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments

*Strong oral and written communication skills

*Strong computer skills

*Ability to develop and maintain recordkeeping systems and procedures

*Ability to analyze event requests and to assess catering product and equipment requirements

*Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

*2-3 years industry management experience in a high end, high volume environment

*The ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while providing a high level of customer service is critical

*Proven success record
