Chef

 

Island casual and award winning upscale restaurant located in St. John, VI looking for an experienced hands on working Chef. The Chef will have the responsibility of overseeing, working with & mentoring the kitchen staff.  Other responsibilities include BOH scheduling, hands on involvement with inventory control, food/labor cost, and kitchen sanitation..The Chef will continue to prepare our existing ala carte menu and create our specials.  The Chef works directly with the restaurant manger in pairing all of our menu items with the appropriate wines.

 

SKILLS REQUIRED:5+ years experience in a full service highend kitchen with at least 3 years being at the senior level. Experience with food inventories. Good understanding of what impacts food and labor costs. Strong culinary skills. Wine knowledge an absolute +  Must possess strong leadership skills to motivate and develop staff Superb communication skills Enjoy living in a small community.  St John is located in the Caribbean with an Island population of 4500 people.
