LINE COOKS - MUCKLESHOOT CASINO

JOB TITLE: Line Cook   JOB SUMMARY:  Cooks all ?to-order? menu items to Casino kitchen standards, in a fast paced short order environment.

 

STARTING SALARY:     $11.668 per hour  

POSITION REPORTS TO:   Sous Chef

 

EXTENT OF JOB AUTHORITY:      None

 

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED FOR POSITION:   High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to stand and work on feet for 8 hours or more per shift.  Ability to lift up to forty pounds (40 lb.), occasionally higher with assistance.

 

SPECIFIC SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR POSITION:

Minimum of two years cooking experience required with an emphasis in one of the following specialty areas: Vietnamese cuisine, traditional Chinese cuisine, Sushi or short order cooking of burgers, steaks, pastas, sandwiches and breakfast items such as eggs and pancakes, etc. Ability to operate a variety of cooking equipment. Knowledge of saut?ing, broiling, grilling, steaming, baking and wok cooking. Must have efficient, organized, and healthy work habits.  Must be able to effectively communicate with other kitchen members and wait staff.  Must be able to handle multiple orders at the same time with speed and efficiency while maintaining proper food quality and presentation. Must maintain a valid WA State health card/food handler's permit.

 

SPECIFIC DUTIES PERFORMED:

1. Stocks, sets up and maintains work station.

2. Does daily prep work for station and cook's line.

3. Stock food items for the next shift.

4. Cleans station and equipment daily and ensures sanitation procedures are followed.

5. Prepares and presents food items per casino kitchen standards.

6. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
