Concept Description:

 

The Original SoupMan, co-branded with Crepemaker, will open in North Park Center this fall in a 380sf prime corner at the entrance leading into the new food court.  Original Soupman is a franchised operation whose founder and creative head owned the legendary Original Soup Kitchen in Manhattan, and was the basis for the famous Seinfeld episode in 1995.  If features gourmet soups rated by Zagat as #1 in NY City, along with Panninis, salads, soft serve ice cream, beverages and smoothies.  Crepemaker is a also franchised concept based in Miami, FL.  Both will operate under one local ownershipand manager will run employees for the dual concept, and will be the first in Texas for both concepts.  For further information, see www.originalsoupman.com and www.crepemaker.com.

 

Must be able to attend two training sessions, 1 for two weeks in Miami and one week in NY City, during September possibly beginning in late August.

 

Position Summary:

 Manager  to supervise all operations, hiring and training (including start up),  coaches and develops team members.  Meets or exceeds quality standards for service, quality, and cleanliness.  Ensures budgeted sales and profit goals are met.   


 

Skills/Qualifications: 

 Minimum 2 years supervisory/management experience in food service industry, preferably quick service, recommended and knowledge of Food is a must. Customer service attitude and ability to work well with others High school diploma or equivalent.

 

Essential functions:

 

Customer Service

 Maintain atmosphere where primary focus is to ensure the customer is always satisfied Incorporate actions and policies to avoid customer complaints/dissatisfaction Maintain appropriate staffing levels to ensure prompt service Handle and follow up on all customer complaints.

 

Leadership

 Monitor, follow up, and evaluate the ongoing training and development of employees.  Maintain complete up-to-date employee files Hire, Orient, evaluate and supervise all team members Develop and implement recruitment and retention strategies Ensure employee awareness of and adherence to company policies and procedures.  Provide feedback, counseling and progressive discipline when necessary Conduct regular performance evaluations Plan, schedule and coordinate daily work activities of staff Promote healthy employee relations by creating a positive work environment that encourages and rewards teamwork Effectively delegate responsibilities and duties Grow team members for advancement and future leadership positions Lead by example

 

Sales and Record Keeping

 prepare weekly schedules considering sales needs while maintaining the labor budget Ensure that sensitive materials and information are not compromised Ensure compliance with cash handling procedures maintain proper inventory levels for sales volumes to control costs submit accurate and complete payroll, weekly, and period end paperwork on time

 

 

Store Maintenance

 Ensure compliance with sanitation procedures as outlined by franchisor and local health ordnances report major repairs immediately to Owner and arrange for all minor repairs using approved vendors Ensure all areas of store and remote storage space are kept well organized,maintained and immaculately clean at all times.  Includes, but not limited to, customer area, back room, dry/cold storage areas, floors, drains, grease traps, duct work, artwork, fixtures and equipment.
