Help Bon Appetit Management Company be a leader in the Food - Agriculture and Services industry by acting as the Grill Cook who serves meals; plans meals; prepares ingredients; completes meal preparation; presents meals; controls costs; maintains a sanitary kitchen; maintains supplies inventory; keeps equipment operating; updates job knowledge; accomplishes organization goals.

 

Qualifications

? Cooking and/or setting up of specific line stations, buffets and/or catering functions, as scheduled or assigned.

? Assisting Sous Chefs, Assistant Manager, Production and Lead Cooks in preparation and service, as assigned.

? Reporting any equipment problems/malfunctions (especially refrigerators - temperatures of all units should be checked at least once every shift).

? Checking the day's production and prep schedules.  Be sure that all food items are prepped correctly and in sufficient quantity, are labeled and dated, are stored properly and are ready for service when needed.

? Aware of basic sanitation issues. Engages in sanitary practices and maintains a clean food preparation environment.

? Knowledge of OSHA standards, hazardous materials regulations, workers compensation laws, industrial hygiene, ergonomics and store operations. Experience confirming employees' exposures in compliance with OSHA regulations.

? Experience in a Facilities Management or Environmental Health and Safety position. Strong exposure to environmental science, industrial hygiene, and health and safety issues.

? Is team-oriented and works collaboratively to achieve team goals.

? Develops thorough, realistic plans that support organizational objectives. Effectively allocates resources and time.

? Strong multi-tasking skills. Completes several concurrent tasks.

? Committed to exceeding quality standards and providing exceptional products and services.

? Performing other duties as assigned.

? High School Diploma or equivalent experience.

 

Physical Requirements

? Occasional lifting and/or carrying of 50 pounds.  Anything over 50 pounds requires the assistance of another person and/or mechanical device.

? 100% of working day will be spent standing or walking.

? All or part of each shift will involve working over or near high temperature equipment (approximately 450?F).

? All or part of each shift may require working in temperature conditions, which may exceed 90?F (depending on seasonal temperatures).

? There may be occasional exposure to below-freezing temperatures (walk-in freezer).

? Thorough knowledge of the safe use/operation of the following kitchen equipment: Flat Top Grill, Deep Fryer, Broiler, Slicer, Steamer, Mixer, Steam Kettle, Blender, Gas Stoves, Food Processor, Oven (Conventional & Convection), Various Knives.
