 Production/Kitchen Manager ? Second Shift

 

Simmering Soup Inc. is a diversified food processor. Our mission is to be recognized by our customers as the producers of the highest quality food products of their kind. Due to our explosive growth we have the need for a Production Kitchen Manager. Located in Cumberland, RI as a family owned company we value team work, community and an informal work environment.  

 

Responsible for hands-on management of the processing, packaging, safety, sanitation and maintenance activity involved in the soup, salad and prepared meals manufacturing operation. Implement operational strategies to achieve desired business results including measuring and tracking key performance indicators, assist the team to optimize and leverage resources, and develop corrective actions as required.

 

Experience should include 5+ years of supervisory experience, proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel. Our people are important to us so excellent communication, coaching and people development skills are a must. We would prefer someone with food processing experience or large volume kitchen experience. Qualified candidates must have an Associates or  Bachelors Degree in Culinary Arts or Business Management, Manufacturing or related fields.  Solid organizational and problem solving skills are required. Highly desired but not required skills include HACCP, USDA, FDA, OSHA, GMP?s and any other ?continuous process improvement? programs.  We are looking for excellent interpersonal skills, a food lover, a good sense of humor and a high energy level able to be flexible and adaptable in a very fast paced, rapidly growing environment. All candidates must be flexible and open to working a floating second shift schedule four days during the week and one weekend day on first shift. Salary range is $45K-$52K.
