Amici Milano has a long standing tradition in New Jersey and Eastern Pennsylvania. As a local restaurant for nearly ninety years, Amici Milano started out and still is a fine dining establishment. We offer a truly unique dining experience. Strict attention to detail and concern for the customer?s comfort and pleasure went into planning the restaurant. We want the customer to relax and enjoy the personalized service along with the classic ambiance we have created for their enjoyment. We are experiencing growth and have an immediate opportunity for a Sales and Event Manager.

 

The Sales & Event Manager reports directly to the Owner.  The functions of the Sales & Event Manager is to plan, direct and control the execution of sales and marketing activities, banquets and catering events, meet with potential clients and administer the customers? database.  Ensure all event functions from origination to execution are done efficiently according to each customer?s requirements and specifications.  Will perform various office work to assist the Owner and other managers.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

-  Develop a yearly sales and marketing plan, marketing programs, advertising and promotional material that will amplify the image and market recognition of Amici Milano.

-  Meet with potential new customers, present event packages and facilities, answer questions and collect customers requirements for events. Execute banquets and catering functions from 10 to 150 people.

-  Plan and execute sales activities to achieve sales goals by performing outside activities.

-  Maintain a thorough knowledge of our competition?s features, benefits, and pricing.

-  Coordinates all banquet functions. Work directly with the customer in setting up and following through on all details of the event (set up BEO). 

-  Accurate and timely completion of all reports and documentation.

-  Handles complaints regarding banquet functions and takes action as appropriate.

-  Maintains database of customer contacts and quotes given.  Follow up with customers on proposals and promises.

-  Ensures that all paperwork associated with a sale contract is accurate and complete.

-  Will keep high level of professionalism to meet or exceed company standards to maximize customer service and sale success.

-  Ensure follow up and after event contact with customers to maintain relationships and create repeat business.

-  Set up menus and event packages and initiate orders for special requests.

-  Maintain open communication with the Executive Chef to discuss any problems or recent changes. Also coordinate event staff scheduling with the Dining Room Manager.

-  Set up and conduct event preparation meetings with appropriate personnel. 

-  The Sales & Event Manager will perform Event activities by greeting customers, and collecting final payments.

-  Perform other related duties as assigned by the Owner.

 

 

SKILLS:

 

-  Must be able to clearly verbalize and write communications. 

-  Must have excellent public relations, customer service and diplomacy skills.

-  Must have outstanding organizational, project and time management skills.

-  Must have the ability to forecast sales and plan quantities.

-  Should possess the ability to read, analyze, and interpret common trade and technical journals, recipes, and cook books.  Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers.

-  Must be computer literate, have working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.

-  QuickBooks and Crystal POS systems experience a plus.

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

The ideal candidate will have a College degree in related field or equivalent experience. Must be able to communicate and understand well. Two to four years experience in banquet/sales field. Must possess a general knowledge of food and beverage procedures, controls, and administration. EOE.

Salary commensurate with experience.
