Sanitation Supervisor

Responsible for the direct supervision of sanitation employees which will entail overseeing the daily cleanliness of equipment, processing lines, break room, restrooms and other designated facility areas as required. Also, responsible for assisting in the maintenance of the pest control program to ensure a pest-free environment.

Manages area of responsibility to ensure and maintain a "Superior" rating on the annual AIB inspection and an "Excellent" rating on the Silliker audit.

Follows up with implemented programs to ensure compliance with GMP's by all employees and other personnel in the production facility and in areas of sanitation and pest control.

Assists in the administration of biological monitoring procedures to determine the efficacy of sanitation methods.

Responsible for maintaining a supply of cleaning chemicals and ensuring the safe storage and handling of chemicals per governmental regulations.

Supervises sanitation employees to comply with all applicable safety laws and regulations as well as with company safety policies, procedures and standards.

Maintains a fair and professional work environment that focuses on business objectives and also balances quality of work-life factors for employees.

Assists in developing and maintaining training and development programs that support key performance goals for the company as well as provide a satisfying and rewarding work environment for employees.

Develops and implements new methods, procedures and systems in order to improve sanitation performance.
BA or BS degree in the field of science (i.e. Biology, chemistry, Biochemistry, Food Science or Technology.

2 years minimum sanitation supervisory experience in food manufacturing, preferably in the bakery/dessert industry.

Strong quantitative and interpersonal skills with the ability to think critically.

Self-directed with the ability to work independently as well as with groups.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Bilingual - English/Spanish a plus.

Ability to effectively plan, organize and prioritize work.
