VP of Development

The Apple Gold Group, one of the largest franchised restaurant operators in the country, is searching for an experienced professional for a new and exciting position at our Support Center in Raleigh, NC. The Vice President of Development will oversee the construction of new restaurants and company-wide facilities management. We are looking for an energetic, detail oriented, ambitious, and determined individual to join the Apple Gold Group Family!

Currently operating over 80 Burger King, Applebees Neighborhood Grill & Bar and Johnny Carinos Italian Restaurants, we have been a growing member of the restaurant industry for more than 25 years.

As Vice President of Development, you will collaborate with the in-house General Counsel to optimize the site acquisition and permitting processes. You and your team will oversee our construction commitments, including management of the bidding process, vendor selection, GC management and successful project close-out. Your role in facilities oversight will primarily include; management of capital requests, optimization of equipment and preventative maintenance systems, methods and tools and increasing overall facilities knowledge across the Organization.

The qualified candidate will possess:

A Bachelors degree is required, preferably in a related field such as civil, structural or mechanical engineering or construction management
Seven to ten years experience in multi-unit project management, preferably in the restaurant industry and responsible for leading a team of professionals
Experience dealing with governmental agencies
The ability to manage multiple projects under tight time constraints
Knowledge of site development and construction
Ability to read and understand applicable construction documents
Solid relationship and team building orientation
Strong written and verbal communication skills in all environments
Advanced capacity for financial analysis and independent decision making
Developed organization, negotiation and problem solving skills
Working knowledge all Microsoft suite products including database software
Willingness to travel approximately 15-20%, as needed
