Analytics - Member Insight Analyst

Responsibilities:



 

Serving on analytical team that supports member and product life-cycle management, interfaces with a broad range of internal clients including Merchandising, Sales Operations, IT and Finance.  Conducts analytical projects to understand key business behaviors such as: member acquisition and retention, product cross-sell, market-basket analysis, customer lifetime value, channel preferences and customer satisfaction and loyalty drivers.  Conducts analyses to assess relationships and patterns within member data, and creates tools which can be leveraged to build strategies.  Contributes to the development and maintenance of scorecards that track and analyze BJ?s performance against its Key Performance Indicators on a daily basis.  Participates in creating detailed project documentation and analysis of marketing and merchandising effectiveness, and in measuring the value of analytical solutions.  Participates in a variety of ad-hoc analytical projects and handles additional responsibilities as assigned.

 

Requirements:

 

A minimum of 2-3 years of experience as an analyst is required.  Experience is preferred in various statistical methods such as SAS/SPSS/SQL, programming and in analysis using software tools including SAS, Excel, Cognos and/or data mining/OLAP.  Backgrounds may include experience in operational analytics, financial analysis, statistics, market research, database marketing, retail merchandising, retail operations and/or business consulting.  Candidates must offer strong communication, planning and organizational skills, along with strong analytic and deductive reasoning abilities.  Retail experience is preferred; consumer products or service provider experience (i.e., banking, telecommunications) will be considered.  Bachelor?s degree (marketing, business, technical) or equivalent work experience is required; MBA a plus.
