Animal Care Manager

Our new beautiful State-of-the-Art facility in White Plains, NY offers pet boarding, training, grooming, retail and day care. Each animal's well-being and comfort is always the number one priority and each staff member helps make our client's experience with Best Friends a truly pleasant one.
We are seeking an experienced Animal Caregiver for this customized center. Seeking bright, energetic, individuals who work hard, pay close attention to detail and have a love of pets.These are not jobs for the weak or faint of heart! Our pet boarding and grooming facility can hold many hungry, active, and sometimes messy pets at a time.
The Animal Care Manager is responsible for the following:Supervise staff of 5-20. Manage care of boarding pets. Maximize occupancy by preplanning and managing yield. Order food and supplies as needed. Perform basic repairs. Assist with all cleaning, feeding and exercising duties.
Skills and requirements:Must be able to supervise a staff from various walks of life and various skill levels Able to work with a variety of dogs and cats Good time management skills Recognizes pet health concerns Understands the basics of business management Handy with basic tools Must be able to lift and carry 40 pounds, walk stairs, stand and walk for full shift. Can work in an environment of pet dander and excretions and cleaning chemicals
Animal Care Manager position requires the flexibility to be able to work weekends and holidays. Experience in Restaurant or Retail Management, Hospitality, Customer Service, Animal Care or Veterinary is a plus!
