Art Directors

The candidates?should be personally very involved in the creative----they should be able to do any of the work themselves---although they have a team working with them. They are expected to be highly conceptual and creative in their own right. They should be able to generate creative/ideas themselves and drive that vision thru to completion. They should also have experience managing budgets and timelines as they will be responsible for doing that in each of their respected areas. They should be highly organized and strategic in their process and thinking. They must also have very good interpersonal skill and be good at managing and interfacing with creatives, business and senior level executives. They must have excellent communication skill both verbal and written.

1.? Art Director Packaging

Responsibilities

Manages the team responsible for generating

Big Ideas for Packaging

?

Oversees the development and execution of big ideas for each season. This individual will be working with both merchant, sourcing and product design teams in the development of all seasonal packaging needs.

?

This may range from applying designs from existing Disney Studio style guides, developing completely original design programs to creating individual one off packages.

?

Knowledge of identity, branding, product photography, packaging, print production and construction techniques a must.

?

This individual should have a strong knowledge of merchandising / planagrams and how packaging fits into a real store environment.

?

Innovative Packaging

Innovation is critical to the Disney Store and this individual will be responsible leading the packaging team in generating innovative packaging concepts for Softlines, Hardlines and Toys. Packaging programs will include products for boys, girls, men, women and infants. They should have an excellent knowledge of packaging construction and printing techniques.

2.? Art Director Advertising/Marketing

Responsibilities

Manages the team responsible for generating

Big Ideas

Leads and generates the Big Ideas for the marketing campaigns.

?

Essentially this entails translating the seasonal product direction into a comprehensive marketing campaign or positioning. It creates the point of view that unifies all consumer communications.

Marketing Campaign Guides

?

Developing the creative marketing campaign guidelines. This document captures all the details of marketing big idea. The creative marketing point of view, designs, patterns, logos, branding, positioning, copy, photography, etc. This document would be used the visual and web team to develop their creative needs.

Advertising

?

Responsible for creating all external marketing materials like magalogs, bounce backs, coupons to mall marketing like kiosk, table topper, mall banners, etc. It is also would be responsible for any print or broadcast. They would also direct the in-store visual marketing and windows.

?

This team handles any synergy advertising opportunities, providing whatever creative content might present themselves.

Branding

Disney Store

This team generates any material needed to address any Disney Store brand issues.

New Product and Line launches

?

As new lines of product are generated, infant, toddler, My room is My Castle, etc. this team is responsible for developing the overarching brand positioning of those lines and any branding needs be it new identities, taglines or positioning, etc.

Fashion and Product Photography

?

This team handles all the photo shoots for fashion and product photography to be used for the any external advertising, in store signage, store windows, Disney store on-line.

Event Marketing

Generates all creative needs for all special store events ranging from:

Grand Openings

Store Liquidations

Barrack Graphics

Character Appearances ETC

Multi-Media

Generating graphics and photography for the In-store media wall

Corporate Communications

Presentations and Conferences

?
