Full time assistant designer/line builder needed for fast-paced growing design team.


 


Individual will be assisting the Director of Development and Senior Designer with sketching, shopping, and development. This individual will be responsible for identifying key trends in the junior and contemporary markets and translating trends into designs for our customer.  The individual is responsible for sketching in full-scale, shopping the market frequently, developing special requests and exclusives for certain department stores, and creating trend presentations and boards for our quarterly sales meetings.


 


Travel to China and Europe will be a part of the position, must be able to have a flexible schedule to accommodate last minute travel changes and plans.


 


Must be able to work quickly, must be a team player. This is a very fast-paced team with frequently changing priorities, and this individual must be able to keep up with the design schedule and have an upbeat, positive attitude.


 


 


Must be able to render all types of shoes in full-scale


(not required for portfolio, if you do not have we will give them take home project.)


Basic knowledge of shoe construction

Eagerness to learn development and construction techniques

Team player, self motivated, self starter

Must be able to take direction and put the image of the brand and important trends above personal taste

Must be able to identify key junior and fashion trends, translate into footwear

Efficiency and speed a must

Must be able to travel internationally (ie, US Citizen or permanent resident)

Must have 2-3 years of Experience
