Assistant Merchandise Manager

Assists buyer in implementing a business plan for a specific category of merchandise by coordinating various merchandise initiatives including marketing and vendor relationships. Administers Marketing programs. Facilitates the ad turn-in process, including preparation of samples, ad fact sheets and input into ZPEZ. Proofs signs to ensure timeliness and accuracy. Assists in ad forecasting. Serves as primary contact for ETC magazine, Internet, and customer service inquiries. Assists the Merchandise Manager with all necessary buy plans by partnering with Assortment Planning throughout the assortment selection process. Responsible for populating necessary documents.Primary contact for Visual Presentation team as it relates to plan-o-guides, signage, set-up and problem resolution. Facilities milestone process for all monitored activities (business planning, assortment planning, marketing, vendor management, visual presentation). Makes decisions as required. Supports the Merchandise Manager by monitoring results of competitive shopping and Coordinates vendor meetings and communication. Preps Merchandise Manager for meeting and participates in session. Monitors business results to include product performance, purchase performance, and post event analysis.

Bachelors degree or equivalent retail work experience in lieu of degree. Successful work experience as a Buyer or Assistant Buyer. Consideration will be given to retail store experience, merchandising internships, or other relevant merchandising experience. Demonstrated ability to implement a business plan from a merchandising and financial perspective. Preferred: Bachelors Degree in Business, Fashion Merchandising, Textiles or related field. Track record of buying success with a given product line/category.
