Assistant Store Manager, Sales

The Museum of Modern Art is currently seeking an Assistant Store Manager for its Design Store.  Directly across the street from the Museum, the MoMA Design Store showcases a sophisticated collection of design objects, gifts, jewelry, personal accessories, furniture, and lighting, including items represented in the Museum's design collection.




The Assistant Manager will report directly to the Design Store Manager with specific responsibility in the following areas:? Administers all store policies and procedures

? Hires and supervises staff and trains on product features and sales techniques

? Creates and monitors daily work schedule

? Opens, prepares and closes Store

? Maintains a clean and organized selling floor and counter area

? Merchandises new items and makes sure floor is properly stocked etc.

? Monitors customer orders and provides customer service

? Handles customer problems, inquiries, store credits and returns

 

Qualified candidates will possess a Bachelor?s degree, strong retail sales experience and 1-2 years? of store management experience in a high-volume luxury brand/high-end or speciality store environment or equivalent combination.  Superior customer service experience and orientation a must. Candidates must have excellent problem solving and customer relation skills.  Ability to deal with ambiguity and adapt to a changing environment is a must.
