ethel?s? chocolate lounge is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager with operations at each of our locations, Chicago, Deer Park, Skokie and Naperville, IL.

 

Duties include:
Ensure prompt and courteous service is given to all customers.
Direct the daily activities of store associates to ensure the store's smooth operation.
Order merchandise and ensure it is set according to merchandising plan-o-grams.
Ensure daily banking activities adhere to cash management policies.
Review profit and loss (P&L) and other financial reports with the Store Manager to identify sales and expense control opportunities.
Assist Store Manager in recruiting and training store associates in retail operation procedures.
Assist the Store Manager in recommending and/or administering discipline to associates as required.
Schedule employees to achieve optimum customer service, merchandise display, store security and expense control.
Maintain store premises and grounds in compliance with agency safety and housekeeping practices.
Other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications:
HS Diploma or GED equivalent.
6 months of supervisory experience, preferably in a retail environment.
Successful completion of a drug and background screen

 

Preferred Qualifications:
HS Diploma or GED equivalent, with some college courses
Two years of retail sales experience.
One year of supervisory experience, preferably in a retail environment.
Ability to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends.

 

Company-paid relocation is NOT available for this position.
