Associate Buyer - Womens (1359)

Objective: The Associate Buyer is responsible for creating an exciting and timely product assortment that meets or exceeds the sales volume and profits for their departments. They are to execute the vision of the President, GMM and DMM while servicing the Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie and Free People customer. They intuitively respond to customer feedback, market trends and develop action plans that drive category specific growth and increased profitability. They are responsible for the success of their business unit. The Associate Buyer is expected to use their fashion intuition to direct the assortment of their category, focusing on the appropriate number of drivers that deliver in excess of 60% of their business. They are expected to understand the store profile by product category and tailor their assortments to optimize regional and demographic differences.


Responsibilities: Profit Planning Product Design and Development Sourcing and Production Marketing In Store Merchandising Inventory Management


Job Skills: An understanding of the customer?s wants and needs and the ability to identify the appropriate product/trend that will appeal to the customer and meet their expectations. An understanding for the Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie, and Free People customer and the shopping experience and that it is the final category edit for the merchandising assortment. The ability to conceptually plan assortments that meet financial objectives. The ability to creatively develop product that addresses identified trends. The ability to delegate and direct the daily activities of the assistant buyers and provide direction to the team. The ability to prioritize tasks and the ability to balance the immediate and long term needs of the business. Personnel skills to lead, develop and coach people and the recognition that building a team is critical to the Company?s success. The ability to comprehend financial indicators and manipulate data to reach financially sound decisions. The ability to collect, assimilate, analyze, package and present information to the President, General Merchandise Manager and Divisional Merchandise Manager in a way that permits them to make an informed decision and take measurable action.
