Business Development Manager

REPORTS TO:
Donna Due, Business Development Director

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Business Development Manager serves as the liaison for external business partners and internal groups including sales, marketing and product development. The Business Development Manager will strategize to identify, prioritize and pursue new and existing opportunities with partners. The role requires an ability to generate his/her own ideas and initiatives that capitalize on existing and prospective partner strengths to drive substantive and additional revenue to CPI Corp.

DUTIES:
Identifies, evaluates, and pursues the strategic and financial prospects of new business partnerships Establishes new strategic business partnerships Follows up on all partnership activity including the tracking, documentation, and status reporting of all collaborations along the business development pipeline Interacts with corporate contacts, facilitates communication, keeps track of milestones, and identifies scope for enhancing these relationships Creates, and is accountable for, client proposals, contracts, job and coupon requests, certificates, and any further documentation following established departmental procedures Validate and verify business-to-business order forms in SAS Respond to customer requests and complaints Work closely with business-to-business customer support team Assist department Director as requested

QUALIFICATIONS:
Possess drive, motivation, and acute attention to detail in ensuring all sales and new business opportunities are captured and explored Ability to work in dynamic, entrepreneurial organization, in both a team and independent environment Willingness to challenge the status quo to drive significant increases in high-margin, recurring revenue Proven ability to negotiate and close complex deals Experience in the portrait studio business

COMPETENCIES: Proven success in sales and business development ability Confident negotiator and ability to ?close the deal? Capable of hands on problem-solving with ability to generate ideas and solutions Experience and competency with MS Word, Excel, Access, and Photoshop A positive and determined approach to researching and analyzing new business opportunities Ability to use own initiative and pay close attention to detail Strong communication skills in all forms including written, oral, email, telephone, and presentation Excellent organizational and time management skills A positive attitude in dealing with people Ability to work independently and as a part of a team

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor?s degree in business-related discipline with an MBA preferred, or equivalent work experience. 3-5 years of strategic alliance or business development experience in a related field.
