Business Systems Analyst

Cash America International, a growing NYSE company, has an exciting opportunity in

our Fort Worth Corporate IT Department. We are currently looking for a Business Systems Analyst.



 

Position Summary

The principal purpose of this position is to perform the detailed functional and technical design efforts of Cash America business systems or systems enhancements and modifications.  Included in these efforts would be all elements of design (databases, processing logic, and input/output design) testing (planning, execution and tracking) and project management.

 

Minimum Qualifications

? In-depth working knowledge (at least four years experience) of database design (not administration) including database methodologies such as flat files, indexed flat files, hierarchy databases, and relational databases.

? Strong Financial background and understanding.

? Working Knowledge of Financial lending systems and operations

? In-depth working knowledge (at least five years) of structured system design techniques such as the Objectives/Strategies/Tactics technique.

? Understanding of Systems Development Lifecycle. 

? Experience completing scoping and writing functional and technical specifications for custom applications. 

? Experience drafting process models, data flow diagrams, data models and entity relationship diagrams.

? Working knowledge of point-of-sale systems, accounting systems, payroll systems, human resource systems, and operational performance systems.

? Working knowledge of statistics.

? Ability to learn new business functions quickly.

? Excellent written and oral communications as well as highly proficient in Word, Excel and Project.

? Excellent working relationship with Information System?s end users and developers

? Excellent analytical skills.

? Must be able to effectively perform under extreme pressure, produce high quality results and systems, and meet stated delivery schedules.

? Must be a self-starter and able to work without close supervision.

? Must be comfortable and competent in dealing with all levels of end users.

 

Principal Challenge

The typical challenges that this position faces are:  understanding user requirements, documenting adequate specifications for the developers and being given adequate time to design, develop, test and implement applications.  Must be able to gather user requirements for application and system enhancements and write specifications from those requirements and interviews.
