Buyer/ Category Manager Fragrance

Are you looking to transfer your buying skills in the fragrance/ skin care category to a growing and forward thinking company?  The Category Manager Fragrance is responsible for all aspects of the men's and women's fragrance merchandise categories.  They will have complete P & L control to run the business. The position operates within the Merchandising area and is slated to achieve the Merchandising objectives as it relates to the Corporate strategic plan. Job Description: Interviewing and negotiating with Manufacturers and vendors. Developing category strategic plans i.e., weekly, seasonal and annual merchandising programs. Adhering to quantitative responsibilities in sales, gross margin and GMROII. Maintaining positive trade relations and developing strategic alliances. Maintaining competitive analysis, including competitive store visits.Developing and implementing promotional strategies. Optimizing SKU mix, sales and gross margin and the achievement of sales and gross margin budgets for the category as it relates to the strategic plan. Improving Customer Service. Work with cross functional team consisting of Cosmetics, Beauty Care, Skin and Suncare departments to deliver category goals.

 



Job Requirements: Bachelor?s degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Marketing/Finance.Retail experience is a plus but not required. 6 to 10 years experience in an analytical, merchandising and/or buying capacity with some management experience. Technical experience should include MS Office, knowledge of (Nielsen) market data, and Access. Demonstrated working experience in Marketing Strategies, vendor and product negotiations, item and promotional pricing along with item selection is required. Strong communication (written and oral) and presentation skills.
