THE OPPORTUNITY:

In these exciting and pivotal positions, you will be responsible for reviewing and recommending new products, evaluating vendors, negotiating contracts and terms, managing business performance, as well as promoting and pricing products for the category. Additional responsibilities include:

 Developing in-store merchandising strategiesCollaborating with inventory management on product purchase plans and assortment transitionsParticipating in weekly and monthly meetings to evaluate performance of the business in relation to forecasts and budgetsDeveloping action plans and providing input to monthly adjustments to forecastsDeveloping and implementing advertising plansParticipating in 6 annual planning periods

 

To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience (minimum 2+ years) in a consumer electronics buying role with large open-to-buy responsibility. You should also possess proven strengths in the following areas:

 Analysis and Decision Making - effectively use data from multiple sources to determine appropriate buysOrganizational Knowledge - Applies technical/business knowledge, current on market trends, product lifecycle and environmental climates that effect demand for products. Uses this information to create accurate plans and forecasts for self and teamPlanning and Organizing - Short and long term planning abilityCommunication - Effectively communicates with team, vendors and storesInterpersonal Skills - Respects others and builds relationships to manage conflicts while focusing on the customer (both internal and external)
