COMMODITY BUYER

Position is located in Grand Rapids, MI.
Candidates outside the GR area, will be required to relocate.

The individual selected for this position will assist with strategic sourcing in the non-merchandise Procurement area. This position involves cross training with other commodity buyer's until product category is selected. The duties will also include: meeting delivery schedules for new stores, remodels and projects effecting multiple locations, vendor/supplies management.

Ideal candidates must have the following:
Bachelors degree or commensurate Retail/Purchasing experience
Minimum 5 years related experience
Knowledge of supply chain management
Project management experience
Analytical, decision-making and planning skills
Knowledge of the strategic sourcing process
Experience in sourcing their assigned commodity group
Sourcing strategy formulation and implementation
Supplier/industry analysis
Customer and results oriented
Leadership attributes including organizing, planning and time management
Effective oral and written communications skills
Working knowledge of Microsoft office
Interpret design drawings to determine and order the correct type and quantity of fixtures
