CREDIT ANALYST

This job will evaluate new customer credit account requests and review financial information to determine credit worthiness and set credit limit for new and existing credit accounts for pending merchandise orders. Research customer financial records and payment history to make credit line determination. Maintain Accounts Receivables on accounts under their responsibility.
? Initiate new customer credit accounts by obtaining and evaluating financial information (i.e. financial statements, bank records, company trade info, background info, etc.), running credit checks via credit agency, conducting public records analysis, etc. to determine whether to extend customer credit for pending orders.
? Contact bank and trade references to verify customers? prior credit worthiness and payment history.
? Set credit limits on new and existing customer accounts based on credit matrix/guidelines.
? Negotiate with customer to offer alternative methods of credit approval when credit request is over amount that can be extended by offering letters of credit, pre-payment options, cash in advance of payment, etc.
? Communicate with customers to resolve credit and/or collection problems and refer issues to proper departments when necessary.
? Review weekly aging reports of customer accounts to identify status of account, outstanding receivables, past due amounts, etc. and research customer invoices, collection notes, and past due status to ensure timely collection of Accounts Receivable - notify Collection Manager if further action is required.
? Communicate with Sales Department regarding status of specific accounts.
? Notify management of account status, notify of any issues, and make recommendation for resolution.
? Review daily reports to release credit orders in a timely manner
? Update and maintain paper
? Able to process info timely and make decisions
? Must have knowledge of financial statement analysis
? Ability to negotiate and resolve issues
? Must have basic computer skills
? BA in Finance or other related field recommended but equivalent work experience will be considered
? One year work experience in this field or in financial field recommended but not required
? Knowledge of financial statements and financial statement analysis
? Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
