Category Manager

Essential Job Duties: 1) Support the VP Retail Customer Development and the senior team with timely and accurate business analyses with a primary focus on syndicated data.  2) Provide strategic insights through marketplace and competitive trend analysis, ongoing analysis of business performance vs. plan and prior year, and benchmarking techniques.  3) Assist in identifying account specific opportunities, develop action plans, and assist in the delivery of the selling solution. 4)  Conduct SKU optimization analyses and utilize POG resources in the development of merchandising standards.  5) Coordinate and collaborate with all affected system and process owners including PCNA, Cadbury, and the database providers. 6) Assist in the development and communication of retail pricing strategies (Deal Creation) for all divisions of PBV.  7) Assist in the development of period, quarterly and annual volume, price and marginal contribution targets by key account and channel for all divisions of PBV.  8) Develop standardized and ad-hoc presentations to be used with customers, senior staff, and field sales including post-promotional analyses and account scorecarding.

 

 

Minimum Education, Skills, and Experience Requirements:  1) Bachelors degree.  2) Category management experience preferably with a national database house (e.g. IRI, AC Nielsen).  3) Excellent analytical skills.  4) Detailed oriented with strong organizational skills.  5) Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.  6) Strong knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint.  7) Experience working with syndicated databases and the terminology.
