Gap District Manager

Gap District Manager General Summary The district manager (DM) develops and articulates a vision and strategy for Gap stores in the assigned district. The DM motivates and inspires the team to complete the sales generation, operation and personnel functions in the store to ensure customer satisfaction, maximum productivity and profitability, and compliance with company procedures. The DM trains and develops general and store managers. The DM monitors the development of associate and assistant managers and sales and stock supervisors. Major Responsibilities:
Monitor sales generation and protect the customer experience in each business.
Resolve customer service issues in the district.
Educate district employees on the principles of the brand.
Ensure brand consistency.
Create and maintain a team environment.
Diagnose, develop and evaluate the performance of general and store managers.
Coach and counsel general and store managers regarding store issues.
Create strategies for and monitor general and store manager retention and career pathing.
Address and document unsatisfactory performance and policy violations of general and store managers.
Complete annual People and Organization Review.
Develop resource plan to ensure district is staffed appropriately.
Complete quarterly performance review for all locations.
Uphold established best practices.
Ensure stores? focus is consistent with regional and Gap strategy.
Complete business and payroll planning.
Analyze district reports and identify ways to leverage opportunities to maximize results.
Develop a business growth strategy.
Acquire market and real estate data for each community in the district. Minimum Qualifications:
Three to five years multi-unit retail management experience or equivalent.
High school graduate or equivalent. College degree preferred.
Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business, which may require evening and weekend shifts.
