General Merchandise Manager GMM

Stock Executive Search is currently searching for an exceptional candidate who is presently a GMM at a retailer that is NOT a discount retailer. The GMM develops product assortment, pricing, allocation, inventory and discount strategies for their 7 major dept stores.

 

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree preferred; an additional 2 years experience may be substituted in lieu of the degree.

Minimum 10 years experience, including at least 3 years at the GMM level, in apparel merchandising to include assortment planning, allocating and inventory mgmt. Experience with a major retailer strongly preferred. i.e. Federated, Bloomindales, Saks, etc etc.

Must have experience developing and executing strategies to maximize revenue, margins, and product turn rates. Maintain seasonal merchandising, pricing, and quatity strategies based on projected trends and historical data. Knowledge of apparel design, development, and production required.

Must have financial and retail acumen; must have strong analytical skills. Strong computer skills.

International and domestic travel is required. Experience managing and motivating and supervising 45 buyers. Relocation benefits, HMO, CAR and housing all paid for!
