Overview:

At Macy's, being a Group Sales Manager is about more than just getting merchandise to the floor and making sure the sale is set. It is about being a business partner, a leader, and a proactive problem solver. As a GSM we will ask you to draw on every part of your well rounded management experience. This will include merchandise presentation, employee development, customer service, business development and inventory control.


Key Accountabilities:

As a GSM you will not only be managing a multi-million dollar business, you will also be a store-wide leader. To this end some of the challenges you will deal with on a regular basis include -
Developing and implementing sound strategies to maximize your business opportunities.
Communicating company, store and departmental objectives to your team.
Ensuring strong merchandise presentation standards and replenishment through coordination of team members and additional resources.
Developing and helping to promote Assistant Managers to become Group Sales Managers.
Providing an environment that fosters excellence in customer service through personal leadership as well as formal and informal associate coaching.
Identifying and recruiting top talent to your team
Developing your associates' customer service skills in order to create a superior "service culture".
Working consistently to develop the full potential of every team member.
Developing a team atmosphere by recognizing superior performance.
Executing and maintaining visual merchandising and selling floor standards.
Communicating assortment issues to the merchant organization based on sales trends and customer feedback..


Skills Summary:

To be a successful Group Sales Manager at Macy's it is imperative that you come with a strong management background. This should include 2 - 5 years of related management experience in a department store or specialty store environment.
