IT SOX Associate

IT Staff, Sarbanes-Oxley 404 Compliance Department

 

Position Objective:

To support the current Sarbanes-Oxley internal control assessment requirement by analyzing, documenting and determining the adequacy of controls over Information Technology processes supporting data used in financial statements.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Analyze, document and determine the overall adequacy of internal controls.

Evaluate the consistency of procedures and their applicability across various financial application systems, hardware platforms, and operating systems software.

Identify internal control weaknesses for various IT business processes, make recommendations for improvements, and monitor remediation plans.

Report findings to management to support Sarbanes-Oxley section 404 certifications.

Coordinate with IT department and IBM to ensure documentations of all processes are current and continually updated.

Maintain testing plans for all identified key controls.

Interact with internal and external audit to facilitate the test of internal controls over IT processes supporting financial reporting.

Assess opportunities to improve processes and identify opportunities for increased efficiency.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Audit or Computer Science professional.

3-5 years of experience in Internal Audit or Accounting.

Knowledge and experience with documentation and testing of Sarbanes-Oxley 404 compliance requirements.

Retail experience a plus.

Excellent communication and writing skills. 

Detail oriented and deadline driven in order to complete tasks and meet required deadlines.

Ability to perform multiple projects simultaneously.
