LAB ENGINEER 

Harbor Freight Tools, a fast growing retail company opening stores across the United States, has an opening for a Lab Engineer in our Quality Assurance Department located in our Corporate Headquarters in California.  We offer competitive pay, excellent benefits and a great work environment.

 

We are looking for an individual who has strong oral and written communication skills. An immediate opening for a person who is highly organized, self motivated, detail oriented, with the ability to work in a team setting.  The candidate must have experience in developing test plan and test case scenario documents, with experience with automated test tools.  Advanced computer skills in word processing, spreadsheet software, electronic calendar and mail software required.  Preferred experience with one of the major testing institutes that per form a broad range of test and certifications (UL, CSA, ANSI, etc.).  Ability to read/write Chinese desired. Responsibilities include:Tests, inspects and ensures products adhere to strict quality standards; Develops and implements Test procedures in line with related standards (UL, ANSI, etc.), Participates in mechanical, electromechanical, and/or metallurgical testing in accordance with engineering specifications and relevant standards; Conducts tests, analysis of results and provides fact based test reports that clearly identify potential problems.  Insures Product Check Lists are accurately identifying potential problems for inspectors to review.Participates in the analytical review of new or revised parts, materials, and products; Designs test fixtures, specifies necessary equipment and performs/manages the implementation; Under the guide lines set by the Lab Manager, work closely with other departments to ensure quality of production product;Participates in the maintenance, calibration and testing of equipment and investigates new equipment to better analyze parts and products.
